NBRS was engaged by the client; Presbyterian Ladies’ College, Sydney, to design the project that is known by both the school and NBRS as ‘SKYPATH’, a new humanities educational building on the existing school campus. The project comprised of the demolition of an existing 1 storey brick building into a 3 storey reflective mirror volume that is connected to three existing buildings on the school campus.  The building includes 7 new general learning spaces, 6 quiet rooms, office spaces, new landscaped areas and the ‘Skypath’ corridor that connects the new buildings to three other existing buildings. The external landscape works were staged from the internal works so that the school could continue operating. NBRS was appointed for architectural, landscape, heritage, and coordination services. I was involved from construction documentation till practical completion.

As part of this project, the landscaping and paving was an important component which was done as a second stage to the building works. We attempted to reinstate materials that were there historically throughout the schools life. This included reinstating a tree into the open courtyard space that was once there, brick paving and cobblestone. The series of drawings below were put together for client approval, coordination and construction.
